Five militants, six policemen killed in Indian parliament raid NEW DELHI, Dec 13 (AFP) - At least five "militants" and six policemen were killed Thursday in an attack on the Indian parliament, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pramod Mahajan said. Mahajan, speaking to reporters from inside the barricaded parliament, said the officers killed were from the Delhi Police Department. "Members of parliament are being escorted out of the complex. The situation is returning to normal," Mahajan said. Emergency doctors at New Delhi's Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital told AFP that at least 25 people, mostly police personnel, were brought in wounded from parliament. A stream of ambulances was seen racing out of the British-built parliament complex, an AFP reporter at the site added. |
