Anura congratulates Ranil "What ever our political differences might be, our personal friendship remains the same," states Gampaha District MP and former speaker Anura Bandaranaike in a congratulatory message sent to Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe. The message adds: "I wish to formally congratulate Ranil Wickremesinghe on his elections as the Prime Minister of Sri Lanka. "I am personally very glad that as a friend of 46 years and a former colleague in the UNP, I have been able to assist him during many of the trials and tribulations he had to face whilst in the Opposition. "When we parted politically it was done in a most cordial manner. "Once again, I extend to the new Prime Minister my warmest congratulations." |
