State boost for dairy farming by Matale district group correspondent In order to improve dairy farming in Matale district, the insemination system has been introduced for dairy farmers by the state veterinary section. According to the dairy farmers the insemination system was implemented by the veterinary department. Later the private sector also started to carry out this system under the guidance of the Government. As a result the insemination system was unsuccessful. At present about 10,000 dairy farmers in this district are inconvenienced under this situation. The traditional dairy farming system was neglected by them after introduction of the insemination system. However under the existing situation the dairy farmers are in a quandary because the quality of dairy farming has declined. |
