Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe told his Parliamentary group yesterday that Mr. Joseph Michael Perera will be the United National Front's nominee for the post of Speaker. The premier also held the view that the Deputy Speaker should be from the People's Alliance.

Power and Energy Minister Karu Jayasuriya was requested to discuss with other parties their nominees to the posts of Deputy Speaker and Deputy Chairman of Committees.
