Maersk wins award for export marketing Maersk Logistics was awarded the main prize at the 2001 Hong Kong Awards for services export Marketing. The prize was presented by the guest of honour, Mr. Antony Leung, Financial Secretary of the HKSAR Government. The awards were initiated by the Hong Kong Coalition of Service Industries in 1997, to reflect the still increasing importance of export services with the main objective being to recognise excellence in export marketing. The awards are supported by the government's Financial Services Bureau and the Industry Department, and furthermore the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, Hong Kong Productivity Council and the Hong Kong Retail Management Association participate in the ballot. Maersk Logistics Hong Kong commenced operation in 1978 as a consolidator and following the industry's rapid development, the company has grown into an integrated logistics service provider, with four core business units - Supply Chain Management, Airfreight, International Forwarding and Warehousing and Distribution. Mr. Tomas Bay, Managing Director of Maersk Logistics Hong Kong Ltd. Says: We are very proud to receive this award which is an encouraging vote of confidence. Mr. Bay continues: "The award further fuels our motivation to continue working very closely with local vendor community to ensure that the overseas clients receive an outstanding level of service".
