Maersk logistics completes coverage of South America Maersk Logistics opened offices in Colombia, Ecuador and Venezuela to complete the company's coverage of South America. The new offices, which are located in Bogota (Colombia), Guayaquil (Ecuador) - and in La Guiara, Valencia, Caracas and Puerto Cabello (Venezuela), signal the completion of Maersk Logistics' 12-month roll-out plan to cover South America. Maersk Logistics now has own offices in Argentina, Uruguay, Brazil, Venezuela, Colombia, Paraguay, Ecuador, Peru and Chile. All Maersk Logistics offices on the continent have their own dedicated staff who are trained to provide the same high level of service that characterises Maersk Logistics' operations around the world. Mr. Peter Kjaer Jensen, Maersk Logistics' Regional Manager for South America, says the completion of the roll-out places Maersk Logistics in the exclusive small club of companies that can entertain Latin American request for proposals from clients. "We are now able to provide seamless transportation handling, even in areas of the world that some clients and companies may consider to be difficult." Jensen continues, "In a stagnating world economy, many companies want to limit their market risk by converting fixed logistics costs (own warehouses/trucks/staff/customs brokers) into variable transaction-based costs. This is one of the areas in South America where Maersk Logistics can provide a reliable and cost-efficient alternative." |
