Three arrested over Wattegama violence by Trincomalee group correspondent Three young men who are allegedly connected to elections violence in Wattegama, Kandy were arrested yesterday by Kantale Police at Gamsabha road, Kantale, Police said yesterday. These three youth were arrested along with their vehicle on a tip off. Police later found that they are wanted in connection with election violence in Wattegama. They are residents of Madawala, Kandy. The detained vehicle belongs to a PA Member of the Wattegama Pradeshiya Sabha, Police said. The three youth were produced before the Trincomalee Magistrate S. Yogendra and were remanded till December 20. Kantale HQI IP Malan Perera is conducting investigations. |
