News Business Features Editorial Security Politics World Letters Sports Obituaries | Demonstrators ask police to arrest killers of Krishantha Kumara by Prasad Poornamal Hundreds of people yesterday staged a demonstration at Daluwa junction on the Puttalam-Kalpitiya Road urging the Police to arrest the killers of 26-year-old Krishantha Kumara who was allegedly murdered by UNP supporters in the wee hours of Tuesday. Bus services on Puttalam Kalpitiya road were also disrupted as around 500 people blocked the road. Kumara was a supporter of former Puttalam district MP and Deputy Minister D.M. Dassanayaka. He was killed at his residence Tuesday around 2.30 a.m. The number of PA supporters killed in the Puttalam district has risen to six within one and half months. Police arrested three suspects in connection with this murder. The suspects were employees of a workshop owned by Puttalam district UNP leader Niyomal Perera. |
