UNP leader has a vision and a plan to retrieve the country - Ravindra Randeniya

by Edward Weerasinghe

Our leader Ranil Wickremesinghe has a vision and a plan to recover the country from the present crisis situation, actor turned politician and Gampaha district UNP candidate Ravindra Randeniya said.

Addressing an election rally in the Kadawatha town, Randeniya said;

He would restart the collapsed industries, bring back investors and provide more and more employment opportunities to the youth of this country. The UNP Government would take immediate steps to make the port and the airport fully operational by making arrangements for lifting of the surcharges thereby benefitting our exporters. Owing to the mismanagement of the economy the government coffers are empty today and the masses are losing employment opportunities as a lot of industries in the private sector are closed or on the verge of being closed down. Though the government speaks of providing employment for the youth, he challenged the contestants of the PA to show any venture they have started to create employment opportunities for the unemployed.

Randeniya disclosed that he was asked by the then UNP leadership to contest Mahara seat opposing late Vijaya Kumaratunga but he totally refused to contest because he was a very close friend and a liberal hearted Gentleman. Now he has come to Mahara to serve the people and not to earn money or popularity.

Reginold Perera, former MP for Gampaha District, former UNP Chief Organiser for Mahara said that to obey the UNP leader he has give up - as the chief organiser for Mahara and seeking votes from entire Gampaha District as a clean politician.

He said under a UNP government there will be peace and prosperity and employment opportunities to all without being biased by caste, religion, race or creed. Day by day the PA is deteriorating and owing to this hundreds of its supporters from all corners of the country are joining United National Party embracing its principles and enrolling as members of the UNP, he added.
