Free Celltel GSM billing info, news updates on SMS Celltel GSM subscribers have been presented with two new free services via the company's popular short messaging services (SMS). The new services, BillSMS and Celltel News Update enable subscribers to receive detailed billing related information as well as regular updates on breaking international news on their handsets. With BillSMS, a Celltel GSM user who registers for the service and requests billing information with a simple SMS message, will receive details such as last bill amount, unbilled call charges since last bill, and credit limit by return SMS. Both outgoing and incoming messages are free, the company said. With News Update, Celltel GSM users receive brief and timely updates of major breaking news stories on the global scene on SMS free. Subscribers who do not wish to receive these updates have the option of de-registering from the service with one SMS message. "The hallmark of these two services is their simplicity and value to subscribers," Celltel's Commercial Director Aniljit Singh said. "We already have the technology. As a quality GSM service provider, our role is to add-value to the technology in a meaningful way." He said BillSMS would be particularly useful to subscribers who wanted to track and keep control of their Celltel bills any time, anywhere. The availability of up-to-date information of outstanding amounts and credit limits would enable subscribers to make payments on time without being dependent on reminders. News updates would help busy executives keep in touch with events while in their offices or on the move. Celltel Lanka (Pvt) Limited, which pioneered cellular services in Sri Lanka, now operates a quality GSM network through expanded GSM coverage, providing international roaming, CLI, SMS and many other GSM features. |
