'UNP would solve ethnic problem'

by Trincoamlee correspondent

UNP Trincomalee district candidate Santha Ranaweera addressing a meeting at the Town Hall said a UNP government could only save the country from the present crisis.

The PA Government which ruled the country since 1994 was solely responsible for the present ills of the country.

President Chandrika Kumaratunga wants to continue the war and cling on to power.

The UNP under the leadership of Ranil Wickremesinghe has a plan to develop the country and bring peace to the country.

The future UNP Government would take steps to settle the ethnic problem though negotiated settlement, he added.

V.R.N. Varathan and S. Krishnakumar UNP candidates contesting Trincomalee district appealed to Tamils to vote for the UNP to ensure peace in the country, solving all crises.
