PA provided more services than any other Govt.

Kuliyapitiya group correspondent

PA -led local authorities perform their services efficiently handling their fields of subjects well. In addition PA Government had provided infrastructural facilities to rural areas within the last 7 years more than any other regime did, the Deputy Minister of Education and Higher Education Anura Priyadarshana Yapa said addressing the meeting that followed the opening of the Sports Pavilion at Hettipola Public playground constructed by Panduwasnuwara Pradeshiya Sabha at a cost of Rs. 4.2 millions.

The Deputy Minister added that in 1994 only 34 per cent of families in Wayamba had electricity but that rate was raised to 65 per cent within last 7 years. A large number of tanks and irrigation schemes were renovated with the view to promoting agriculture in the Province.

In 2000 PA was elected to power for six years. However we could not implement our programs for six years within one year as a snap election came within a year as a result of a betrayal of our own men following a political conspiracy.

This is not a political meeting, but as the election is round the corner we are compelled to speak politics here too. PA is always committed for the country and the people. All are well aware of that. So with the self-reliance they would dedicate for the protection of PA and PA Government. We are always for a free and fair election, but it appears that UNP has resorted to thuggery. We warn UNP supporters to not to harass our supporters.

Wayamba Chief Minister S.B. Navinna said that UNP was defeated in all elections at a row and it would create a new political world record on December 5th as the party that was defeated in 12 consecutive elections.

The Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Munidasa Premachandra, Wayamba Provincial Minister of Agriculture, Lands and Irrigations Athula Wijesinghe, the Chairman Panduwasnuwara PS Ranjith Upali and the Vice Chairman D.D.M. Somapala also spoke.
