Govt. was successful - Wimal Weerawansa
by G. P. A. Weerasuriya We will definitely defeat the UNP which is trying to grab power by hook or crook without thinking about the future of Sri Lanka, JVP's Propaganda Secretary Wimal Weerawansa said. Addressing an election rally at the Senanayake Park, Badulla, Weerawansa further said; voters have realised the true characteristic of UNP's Ranil Wickremesinghe. So we are confident of our victory. "The corrupt politicians and businessmen are the closest friends of Ranil. They want to cover their corruptions under a UNP regime. Prabhakaran and Hakeem, both separatists want separate lands from North and East of our Motherland which would pave way for communal riots. "Now Ranil talks about the charter for women. But he has forgotten how many sons and husbands were abducted from the women under the UNP regime. How many youth were brutally killed. "We established a probationary govt. with a view to launch our party politics and render a wider social service for all. Actually it was successful. We did an unarmed revolution expecting nothing. Within a short period. "We established the independent commissions of Election, Police, Judicial and public service by passing the 17th Amendment to the Constitution in Parliament. And we could limit the Cabinet of Ministers to 20 and write off farmer loans." |
