Latest UNP conspiracy to get PA candidates arrested on false charges - Jeyaraj Fernandopulle

by Gampaha South Group Corrospondent

UNP's latest conspiracy is to make PA candidates being arrested on false charges and win the election. But they will not succeed in their attempt, Minister of Tourism and Civil Aviation Jeyaraj Fernandopulle told a meeting in Udugampola, Gampaha.

Referring to the arrest of PA's Reggie Ranatunga, Minister Fernanopulle said: "even if they make to arrest all PA candidates, they will not be able to stop the grand victory of the PA at this election."

The Minister further said:

"All conspiracies of the UNP organized to win the election with certain business racketeers and dissidents were failures. Their latest conspiracy is to arrest the PA candidates and to win the election.

"That has already begun in Gampaha District by arresting PA candidate Deputy Minister Reggie Ranatunga. Even of they make to arrest all PA candidates, they will not be able to stop the grand victory of the PA at the election.

The Minister said that the UNP who ruled the country for seventeen years since 1977 has not been able to meet the aspirations of the people and the people has not forgotten their murderous era. Politically advanced people are not prepared to vote for the UNP.

"UNP supporters should think that no one can change the PA's rule since President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga is still the leader of the country.

Commenting on the dissolution of Parliament the minister said the PA Government was compelled to come before the people to seek a fresh mandate as some members were influenced by millions of rupees.

Minister Jeyaraj Fernandopulle appealed to the people not to put the country into a disaster by voting for UNP who acts according to the tunes of reactionary groups.

Western Provincial Council Member Prasanna Ranatunga said, the UNP speaks about a decent political culture but their latest conspiracy is to arrest the PA candidates making bogus allegations and also to create violence to win the hearts of the people.

Their so-called political culture is only a dream when considering their 17 years treacherous past. They are trying to drag the people again into their dark history.

Ranatunga said that no power on earth can stop the PA's victory at the forthcoming election.
