This was stated by the Puttalam District PA Candidate and North Western Provincial Council Minister, Victor Anthony, at a public gathering at Chilaw. Former Deputy Minister of Youth Affairs Priyankara Jayaratne also attended the meeting. Anthony said, The PA Government never allowed racketeers to exploit our country." Specially, the drug business in the North Western coastal area was completely eradicated in the best interests of this country. "During the last seven years, the PA has carried out a large number of development works which have greatly benefited the people of the area. In the fields of Education, Health and Highways, rapid development has taken place during this period," he added. "On other hand, the LTTE terrorists are in a difficult situation due to the steps taken by the Government. No one can pass fuel or cement to those terrorists and earn money. Therefore, terrorists are trying to kill our leaders one by one. "We also plan to do a large scale development program in this area through the Cooperative Movement," he added.
