Two
newcomers in Bangladesh Test squad against Zimbabwe DHAKA, Sunday (AFP) Bangladesh on Saturday named two newcomers in a 14-member cricket squad for the first Test against Zimbabwe, starting at Dhaka on November 8. All-rounder Khaled Mahmood, man-of-the-match in Bangladesh's epic triumph over Pakistan in the 1999 World Cup, and seamer Masrafee-bin-Murtza Kowshik make the Test team for the first time. Zimbabwe, due to arrive here on Monday, will play two Tests and three one-dayers on their three-week tour. This will be the first fully fledged series for Bangladesh under the International Cricket Council's (ICC) 10-year Test calendar introduced in April. Bangladesh gained Test status last year but are yet to win a match. The squad: Naimur Rahman (captain), Khaled Masud (vice captain), Javed Omer Belim, Aminul Islam, Habibul Basher, Akram Khan, Mohammed Ashraful, Al Shariar, Khaled Mahmood, Mohammed Sharif, Monjurul Islam, Masrafee-bin-Murtza Kowshik, Enamul Haq, Fahim Muntasir Sumit. |
