The Election Campaign of UNP leader Ranil Wickremesinghe for the Colombo District kicked off on Thursday at party headquarters Siri Kotha with the Jathika Kala Sansadaya and the Jathika Yowun Peramuna in the forefront.

Film stars and radio artistes were present in their numbers together with members of the UNP Youth Front who gathered in front of a giant float of party leaders opposite Siri Kotha for a meeting.

The float was also used as a stage for a mini musical show, a drama skit and a special 'kannalauwa' to bring victory for the UNP leader in the Colombo district and of the country.

The members of the Kala Sansadaya thereafter fanned out to all electorates in the Colombo district to canvas for the electoral victory of Mr. Wickremesinghe.

This will be a daily feature until the end of the campaign. The UNP leader however was not present to grace the occasion.
