Anamaduwa killing no political murder by Sarath Malalasekera The murder that took place in Anamaduwa Police area on October 31 was not a political murder, Senior SP Willie Abeynayake told the 'Daily News' yesterday. Several print media, not the Lake House Group of papers, attempted to highlight this incident as a political murder. But it is only a dispute between two parties over a woman, police said. The Anamaduwa Police has arrested the suspect Upali who is alleged to have been involved in the killing. "After recording his statement we will produce him before the Magistrate," Senior SP Abeynayake said. The media has a responsiblity to give the correct picture of any incident to the public. Giving the incorrect version would lead to a lot of problems, Senior SP Abeynayake added.
