Police yesterday arrested Ports and Shipping Deputy Minister Reggie Ranatunga in connection with the alleged killing of a UNP supporter.

At the time of his arrest, the Deputy Minister has been admitted to the Colombo National Hospital. He was remanded till November 16, police sources said.

The Deputy Minister is still in the hospital Merchant Wards under the custody of Prison Officers.

He was arrested in connection with the murder of UNP supporter Lionel Rodrigo who succumbed to his injuries on Monday.
