Brown's committed to promote football in Sri Lanka The sharp FA Cup football tournament was concluded recently and the finals were held in the presence of a large crowd of over 10,000 spectators at the Sugathadasa Stadium, Colombo. The FA Cup was better known as the "Blue ribond' of soccer in Sri Lanka and Brown's had sponsored the tournament with a Rs. 3 million sponsorship package. Saunders Sports Club immerged as winners after a keen encounter defeating Negombo Youth by 4 goals to nil. Sharp's association with football in Sri Lanka is recent but internationally SHARP is synonymous with the best football team in the world Manchester United and in Asia they are the official sponsor of the Malaysian Football Association. Browns Electronics are the sole agents for SHARP in Sri Lanka and have consistently seen sports as a means of uniting and portraying the skills and capabilities of the youth. The company has been responsible for sponsoring sports events as diverse as cricket, netball and hockey in Brown's are committed to promote and uplift the spirit of sportsmanship for a better Sri Lanka. As the SHARP FA Cup was kicked off locally, Sharp is getting ready for yet another bout of competitive football on a global scale, the World Cup football tournament would be played in Japan in 2002.
