No power cuts during Sacred Tooth Relic exposition

Lands, Irrigation, Power and Energy Minister and Deputy Minister of Defence General Anuruddha Ratwatte has directed the Ceylon Electricity Board to continue electricity supplies to Kandy without interruptions during the exposition of the Sacred Tooth Relic, with the help of generators.

There was a request by the temple authorities and the police that electricity supplies should continue without interruption even during the hours of the power cut. The exposition begins on September 22 and ends on October 7.

It was revealed at a conference held at the Maligawa yesterday that Minister General Ratwatte has instructed the CEB to take steps to continue the supply of electricity making use of generators.

Diyawadana Nilame Neranjan Wijayeratne, DIG Mahinda Balasooriya, Chairman CEB J. L. Ariyananda and deputy Chairman Ranjith Cabral were among those who participated in the conference.
