Two LTTE 'recruiting' agents arrested Troops acting on information provided by villagers arrested two men who had been 'recruiting' children for the LTTE in Valachchenai on Monday. The men according to the Special Media Centre had admitted that they had been working for the LTTE. Villagers said they were being intimidated and told to hand over their children for training for the rebel army. The suspects M. Sadis and S. Abeychan have been handed over to the Valachchenai Police for further interrogation. In Trincomalee two employees of the Eastern Bus Company were abducted during the weekend, on the Mutur - Killiveddi road. They were identified as K.M. Sisira Gunaratna and Weerasinghe Saliya. The LTTE is suspected in this case too, yesterday's Media Information Centre release said. |
