LTTE attack on Air Force and BIA: Suspect in Rs. 200,000 bail

Air Commodore R.A. Ananda who was taken into custody by the CID investigating the LTTE attack on the SLAF base and the Bandaranaike International Airport on July 24 was yesterday produced before the Negombo Magistrate and Additional District Judge Mohan N. Buran and released on bail.

The Judge directed the Air Commodore to furnish bail in a sum of Rs.200,000 with two surties. He was ordered to appear in court on October 8, 2001.

A number of persons suspected of having links with the terrorists are being interrogated and will be detained until completion of the invetigations.
