JVP MPs credit half salary to Consolidated Fund The ten JVP members of Parliament handed over a letter of request to the Secretary General of Parliament on September 7, to credit to the Government Consolidated Fund exactly a half of their monthly remuneration, until further notice. An MP's salary inclusive of allowances amount to Rs. 34,100 per month. This step on the part of the JVP members is a sequel to the Memorandum of Understanding entered with the PA Government on September 5. According to the JVP media sources, the ten JVP MPs credit the balance half to the party fund without utilising them for their private living. |
