LTTE area leader and another terrorist killed Two terrorists including an area leader in the East were killed in a confrontation between STF personnel of Kaluwanchikudi and a group of terrorists at Kaludaveli in the Batticaloa Police area Thursday. STF officers recovered a M16 weapon, a T56, a side charger, two mortar shells, a communication set, two wire rolls, 120 rounds of ammunition and a pickaxe after the clash. The two terrorists were identified as Vincent No.0081 and Thevar No 61. Vincent is an area leader in Kaludaveli and led one of the LTTE teams in the recent attack on the Central Camp Police Station. According to LTTE transmissions eight terrorists have sustained serious injuries. Action has been taken to hand over the dead bodies to the ICRC, STF Commandant DIG Nimal Gunatilleke said. |
