by Sarath Malalasekera and Bharatha Malawaraarachchi A Ukrainian woman identified as Olina was killed and three others, a Pakistani national and two Sri Lankan youths were injured yesterday morning near the BMICH when their car crashed into a Prisons Department vehicle. The Pakistani national also a woman and the two young men were rushed to the Accident Service of the Colombo National Hospital for urgent surgery. The body of the dead woman who was driving was extricated from the wreck by mechanical means. Hospital authorities said that the condition of the young men was satisfactory and that they are out of danger. The Pakistani woman who suffered head injuries was under observation. Chief Inspector Ananda Samarasekera, OIC, Cinnamon Gardens Police is conducting investigations assisted by SI Bandara, OIC, Traffic Cinnamon Gardens Police and Sergeant Ratnamalala. |
