Bodyline wins silver award

Bodyline (Private) Limited won the Silver Award for the Extra Large Category of the Industry Sector at the Ninth Exports Awards Ceremony held by the National Chamber of Exporters of Sri Lanka (NCE). The total number of applicants for this year's awards were 138, of which a majority represented the Industry Sector.

Bodyline believes that the factors that contributed towards this award are continuous growth in exports resulting in a turnover in excess of Rs. 5 billion. The company provides employment to over 4,300 with well over 10,000 dependents. The company also accounts for 1% of total Sri Lankan exports and 2% of total garment exports.

Bodyline's contribution to society includes educational scholarships for school-leavers in the locality, donation of educational material and equipment to schools in the area, development of hospitals in Horana and Ingiriya and construction of houses under the Ranaviru Gama Housing project. The company also contributes to the environment by implementing projects such as the waste water treatment plant at the factory which treats and recycles the waste water, the sound proof generator which eliminates noise pollution and the smokeless incinerator which minimises environmental pollution.

This award is yet another achievement to a long array of awards won by Bodyline (Private) Limited such as The National Productivity Award, the Taiki Akimoto 5S Award presented by JASTECA, the National Quality Award and the Most Energy Efficient Plant Award presented by the Ceylon Electricity Board.

The NCE awards ceremony was first launched in 1992 in recognition of exporters' performance and their valued contribution to the country's economy. Today the Chamber has a membership of 400 exporters. During this relatively short period of time NCE has already established key landmarks in the export development of Sri Lanka.
